A graduate of the Tulane School of Medicine, Dr. William Blackman interned at the Confederate Memorial Medical Center at LSU. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Tulane School of Medicine. Dr. Blackman is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and has been in private practice with Professional Eye Associates since 1974. Dr. Blackman specializes in cataract surgery, including new technology lenses, and laser vision correction (LASIK) and is committed to providing you with the best care possible using the safest and most technologically advanced procedures.
Dr. Blackman received his pre-medical education at Centenary College in Shreveport and later graduated form Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans. Following military duty with the US Public Health Department and a residency in Ophthalmology at Tulane, Dr. Blackman and his family settled in Dalton, where he has practiced medicine since 1974. He is actively involved with historical preservation, the Dalton First Methodist Church and the Dalton College Foundation.
