Dr. Timothy E. O’Boyle, MD
Dr. Timothy O’Boyle, a board-certified ophthalmologist, has also earned recognition as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor. He specializes in treating complex eye conditions and performing advanced procedures, including eyelid surgery, diabetic and glaucoma laser treatments, and intravitreal injections for the treatment of diabetic macular edema and wet macular degeneration. Before joining Professional Eye Associates in 1991, Dr. O’Boyle was the Chief of Ophthalmology at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia.
Dr. O’Boyle is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology, emphasizing his dedication to staying at the forefront of his field. Patients appreciate his compassionate approach and the personalized care he provides.
Dr. Brian Kim, MD
Dr. Brian Kim is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a renowned corneal transplant surgeon – the only fellowship-trained corneal and refractive surgeon in Northwest Georgia. He also specializes in using advanced techniques for refractive cataract surgery, LASIK, PRK, ICL, intraocular lens exchange, Yamane scleral lens fixation, eyelid surgery, pterygia, tube shunts, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). Dr. Kim is also the only eye surgeon in the NW Georgia area certified to perform laser treatment for vitreous floaters.
Celebrated for his expertise in advanced surgical techniques, he holds numerous accolades, including his recognition in Newsweek’s Best Eye Doctors in America for 3 consecutive years (2021, 2022, 2023), and was also selected as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor. As an active member and major contributor to the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, past-president of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology, and volunteer clinical professor of ophthalmology at the Medical College of Georgia, he is an industry leader committed to innovation, research, and education within the field.
Dr. Joshua Hendrix, MD
Dr. Joshua Hendrix is a board-certified ophthalmologist who enjoys delivering comprehensive eye care to the Northwest Georgia community. While specializing in both medical and refractive cataract surgery and utilizing advanced techniques and technology, Dr. Hendrix also provides LASIK, eyelid surgery, diabetic eye treatments, glaucoma care (medical, laser, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery or MIGS), and macular degeneration care all with a patient-centered approach.
Inducted by his peers into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Golden Humanism Honor Society, Dr. Hendrix was also recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor. While he has previously received accolades for research in his field and has been involved with teaching surgeons-in-training, he now enjoys focusing on patient care in the community.
He is still an active member in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Daniel J. McBride, OD
A graduate of The Ohio State University and the Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Daniel McBride joined Professional Eye Associates in 2005. Dr. McBride is a medical optometrist with extensive experience in the medical treatment of dry eye disease, blepharitis, and glaucoma; monitoring for diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and cataracts; and expertise with post-operative care for cataract surgery. He also performs routine eye exams and specializes in hard-to-fit contact lenses. Dr. McBride is a proud member of the Georgia Optometric Association.
Dr. Van Andrew Davis, MS, OD
Dr. Van Andrew Davis earned his Master’s of Science from the University of North Carolina and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama School of Optometry in 1999. As a medical optometrist, he has extensive experience in the medical treatment of dry eye disease, blepharitis, and glaucoma; monitoring for diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and cataracts; and expertise with post-operative care for cataract surgery. He also performs routine eye exams and specializes in hard-to-fit contact lenses.
Dr. Brett McDonough, OD
Dr. Brett McDonough’s passion for optometry stems from a personal connection to vision care, shaped by his experiences with poor eyesight and a family history of eye conditions like macular degeneration and glaucoma. After earning his Biology degree from the University of Mankato, he pursued his Doctor of Optometry degree at the Southern California College of Optometry, graduating in 1997. Dr. McDonough is a medical optometrist with extensive experience in the medical treatment of dry eye disease, blepharitis, and glaucoma; monitoring for diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and cataracts; and expertise with post-operative care for cataract surgery. He also performs routine eye exams and specializes in hard-to-fit contact lenses using the scleral lens.
