Dr. Hendrix is a comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery using advanced technology and IOL implants, including Toric, multifocal, and EDOF lens implants. He also treats glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and eyelid diseases. Recognized with multiple academic and professional honors, Dr. Hendrix is dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality surgical and medical eye care.

Growing up with a father who worked as an optometrist, Dr. Hendrix developed an early fascination with eye care and the complexity of the human eye. Hearing stories about patients and learning about vision health inspired him to pursue ophthalmology, a field where he could combine his passion for science with a meaningful opportunity to help others. He was especially drawn to the diversity within ophthalmology and the ability to improve patients’ quality of life through both medical and surgical care.
Today, Dr. Hendrix is proud to provide comprehensive eye care for patients throughout Northwest Georgia at Professional Eye. As an eye care provider, he values building long-term relationships with patients with chronic disease while also helping preserve and restore vision for patients with reversible disease through surgery. Through his work, Dr. Hendrix hopes to make advanced, compassionate eye care more accessible to the community he serves and to positively impact patients’ lives for years to come.

Dr. Hendrix’s Educational Background & Academic Training
Dr. Hendrix earned his medical degree from the Marshall University School of Medicine before completing his internship at Greenville Hospital System and his ophthalmology residency at the renowned Dean McGee Eye Institute.
Throughout his medical career, he has been recognized for both his academic excellence and compassionate approach to patient care. He received the Polan Award for achieving the highest standing at his medical school and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society by his peers. During residency, he earned the DMEI Resident Honor Award for his ophthalmology research contributions and was inducted into the Golden Humanism Honor Society for his commitment to compassionate care. Most recently, Dr. Hendrix was recognized as a Top Doctor by fellow physicians in the region.

Outside of caring for patients, Dr. Hendrix enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, while staying connected to the Northwest Georgia community he proudly serves. He is blessed with a wonderful wife and two amazing children. When not in the office and with family, you can often find him on the tennis courts or hiking along the beautiful trails in the area.
